Got Soda Stream - is it Worth It?
Im thinking of getting a Soda Stream as a gift for DH. Im wondering if it will be a novelty or if its really a good product. If you have one please tell me how you like it, what flavors are good etc.

Love it and use it all the time! The pink grapefruit is my favorite flavor...it's very light and refreshing.

LOVE it! DH drinks a TON of soda, so it definitely saves us money. You can buy the refills at Costco or BBB and obviously there are all types of flavors. DH especially loves it for the energy drink, because it ends up being WAY cheaper than the amount of red bull he could consume in a week.
I've recently just been making seltzer out of it since I'm cutting down my caffeine intake. Can't go wrong with this - why buy seltzer when I can just make carbonated water???

I only use it for seltzer! We're really not big into the flavorings; we usually just add fresh lemons or limes or oranges if we want a little flavor.
I've had mine for 3 years now, and we love it!

Def worth every penny. They now make natural syrups with real sugar. The diet syrups are made with splenda and both taste so much better then coke/pepsi.

My BIL and SIL have one and they use it Often to make soda and other drinks. They don't buy anything anymore since they got it since they make whatever they want to drink. The soda tastes like the brand name stuff. You wouldn't know the difference.

The cranberry raspberry and orange sodas are really good.

I can't imagine life without a soda stream
I like it for making seltzer mainly and their ginger ale mix (sparkling natural line). DH, on the other hand, is not a fan of their colas. He's very loyal to the coca-cola brand and nothing tastes the same. He does like some of their other flavors though. Also, not having to lug bottles from the grocery store is a huge bonus!

same here. And its worth it for us because we used to drink a lot of seltzer. No more lugging bottles and bottles of it from the store.
never even tried any of the flavors

I would imagine if you just add in syrup - then to make flavored seltzers you could just add a slice of fruit or a little bit of juice.

pink grapefruit is my all time favorite as well.
I've also tried using the MIO flavoring you can get in the supermarket and the pomegranite one is really good as well.
I stopped buying soda for myself when i got the machine, and i don't miss the other stuff at all.
