Granite Question....
I would LOVE Granite. But my DH is not loving it. My parents have black granite and he says it always looks dirty even if they just cleaned it it looks dirty
Anyhow.... Lets say I did get Granite and in a few years wanted to change the cabinets can the take the granite off replace the cabinets and then put the same granite on top?

Re: Granite Question....
They can definitely put the same piece on if the proportions stay the same. LOL I just replied to your countertop thread about my black granite countertops - same issue your DH mentioned.

Re: Granite Question....
WHEN we do get around to this, we are going to get soapstone countertops.

Re: Granite Question....
I don't see why they couldn't - but the granite is SO heavy so you'll just need several men when the time comes

Re: Granite Question....
I have granite and I have to look at my counters on an angle to see if they are dirty. They are beige with black and darker beige swirls. So pretty. I think it's called Giallo (Something or other). HIDES EVERYTHING!!
As for putting the granite down, then lifting it, then replacing it...I don't know. Though it is a heavy stone, it is fragile. Moving the granite might cause tension cracks. Ask your granite dealer if doing this is possible.

Re: Granite Question....
I work for a granite company and they do not reccomend it. I would wait in that case and do it all together.

Re: Granite Question....
I have a brown granite as well and it hides everything - streaks included.
I would wait to do everything - only because then you are limited to the same EXACT footprint. You would not be able to change the stove/sink one inch.
