LOL my mom was a frumpy FTWM from Great Neck and that lady was NOT "frumpy" before... at least not from the picture she showed.
But it's nice to see someone take an interest in themselves, albeit for what I consider the wrong reason... shouldn't be your friends you're trying to look good for. It should be yourself IMHO.

She looks good in the second pic and idk if the first pic is from many years ago, but the makeup really ages her. She looks a lot older in the second pic, IMO.

I soo need to call the salon and make an appt for a hair cut and im going to bite the bullet and add in some hilites. I need a change in my appearance. I feel like for a while after I had DS I had lost a part of myself/my identity and I think a change might do me some good!

I don't even think I'm frumpy (though I could totally be deluding myself here), but clearly I would never cut it in Great Neck! Stacey and Clinton would be ambushing me within a week.

ITA, and I hate that she says "changes need to be for me and only me" after saying that she dyed her hair because her glam friend told her it was past time. 
And honestly, why do you need expensive heels for the weekends if you are taking your kids to Target and the grocery store? I understand a special occasion like a wedding, but there is nothing that I do on my weekends in general that requires high heels.

Great story! I don't think she made the changes for her friends, I just think they pointed out some things she didn't even realize were that bad. I would be mortified as well if I had gray hair, esp if a friend pointed it out! I would have gone to a salon the next morning in Miami!
