Great Neck / Glen Head/ Glen Cove

anyone know about these 3 towns? like their school district?

i live next to great neck know but don't know much about the town and it's so expensive. glen head/cove have some really nice houses for less than $800k but the taxes are still high.

any insights on these towns will be greatly appreciated.

Glen Cove is nice just stay away from Glen Cove School District. It is a city school district. Elementary schools are fine, but the Middle and High are not. There are not some good areas of Glen Cove, and section 8 housing, and then there are huge estates and mega money. Good local shopping with basic supermarkets, fast food, staples, Petco etc.

North Shore is a great school district and is Glen Head and a little of Glen Cove. Glen Head has a small cute town with more mom/pop type stores. Some nice places to eat and has a nice community feel.

I am not familiar with Great Neck really. Schools are very competetive but very good.

Great Neck has really good schools, and it's a nice town overall. They have good parks, there's a busy downtown with cute shops and restaurants, and a semi-decent library system. DH and I lived there until recently, and we really liked it, but found the houses too expensive. In our price range, we could only buy a knock down or a tiny house. It is congested though--lots of traffic.

We looked in Glen Head, and we liked the look of the town, but we both commute to NYC, and that train line sucks. We really didn't want to have to drive to another town every morning, so we stopped looking there. The school system seemed okay from what I recall, and you get more for your money than Great Neck.

I don't know anything about Glen Cove.

we looked into glen head and liked it - very artsy. but we could really only afford houses that had the train running through it.

I interviewed once at Glen Cove HS and I actually got a nice impression of it, but I have heard that GC is block to block
