Great ped. dentist!
Dr. Crespi
Kevin went for his 1st dentist check up on Monday and actually had to get two teeth cleaned because of tartar. (How he got tartar I have no idea). I am so proud of Kevin, he didn't even cry when they cleaned his teeth and they used that water pick thing that can hurt sometimes so he was really a little trooper!
They were so great. The office / medical staff are all so nice and the waiting room had so many toys to keep the kids occupied.
They are located in Massapequa.

Re: Geart ped. dentist!
How old is your son? My dentist and my pediatrician says not to take Andrew until he's got all 20 of his baby teeth. So far, he's almost there, but his top 2 year molars haven't come in. Just wondering what made you bring your son and such.....

It was mostly because of the stains he had on his two bottow front teeth which turned out to be tartar.
On the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry web site is says...
When should I take my child to the dentist for the first check-up?
In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday.
I was worried that the stains were that problems some kids have with milk rotting their teeth so thats mostly why I took him in.

Re: Great ped. dentist!
Just wanted to 2nd this reco! I took my 3 year old there today for his 1st visit and he LOVED it!! They were awesome!! A little pricier than a few others I called ($175 for the initial visit), but I felt more "comfortable" going here.
The staff really is fantastic.
ETA: No cavities and he has "great spacing" so I don't need to torture him w/ floss!!

Re: Great ped. dentist!
I need to make an appt for my dd.
Just wondering - what is done at the first visit? Xrays or anything? $175 seems a bit steep for an exam with a toddler, no?

$175 is steep! I was shocked when I first heard ped's prices in general! the $175 covered the "comprehensive exam" (counting 20 teeth ), prohpylaxis and fluoride w/o prophylaxis. In other words, the hygienist brushed his teeth w/ toothpaste and then brushed them with fluoride.
The $175 was the most I was quoted, although the other offices I called were $130+. This office is highly recommended and REALLY kid-friendly.
