Great South Bay Run 10/5/2013 Lets DO this!!

Ok ladies, a whole bunch of us did it last year. Who's with me?!
Where: Bayshore Manor Park, at the end of South Clinton Street in Bayshore
When: Saturday, October 5th. Half Marathoners start at 8:30am. 10k'ers start at 8:45am. 5k'ers, walkers start at 9:00am.
How much: $25 for the 5k, $35 for the 10k, $45 for the half marathon
Why: This race has been going for 28 years and has a great turnout of people. There's a positive vibe, it's a flat course, and part of the proceeds go to the Tri-ing for Kids charity, raising funds for sick and injured children.

I'm already signed up with my son.  We are doing the 10K. I am hoping to be able to run the entire thing at a decent speed but who knows. Last year I did the 5K. It was my very first race ever. I was so SLOW but had a great time.

i did the 10k last year. it was a great race and last year the weather was beautiful! not sure i will do it because i'm doing the hamptons half the week before and have tough mudder october 12. I think i need to give myself a little break ;)

Bumping because we're getting closer and I got an email the other day that if you want to do it, you should register before they sell out (restricted to 1500 participants)
Anyone doing the 5k? I haven't been jogging as much as I should

I'm signed up for the 5k, DH for the 10k. I just started running 8 weeks ago and I'm hoping to be able to run the whole thing. I'll be happy with running most and walking some though!

I may do it as well. That is my last long training run for NYC I have to do 20 that week so I plan to do 7 miles first then the half to break it up

I responded to your other post, but perhaps you can do the half and move your 20 to the following weekend - that would be 3 weeks prior which is perfect for your last long run!!

I've been dealing with a minor injury so haven't trained for the half. i may drop down to 10k but won't decide til that day. Either way I'll be there!

Great South Bay Run 10/5/2013 Lets DO this!!
I'm doing the 10K with my Mom. It will probably be slow and painful and I'm ok with that. My DD is not even 10mo old, I have not trained, but I just need to prove to myself I can do it! I know I can run 4 miles, what's another 2.2? I ran a marathon after topping out at only 18 miles, this shouldn't be too bad, at least that's what I'm telling myself :)

Tomorrow's the day! For anyone who hasn't picked up their registration yet, the email says that it closes at 8. 
Hopefully we'll find each other. I'll probably be wearing a blue-green top that says "run happy" on it if you don't recognize me.
