Great South Bay YMCA
Does anyone have a child or know someone that has their children in Daycare at the Great South Bay YMCA in Bay Shore? I have to find a daycare provider and was just wondering if they are any good. I checked their rating with NYS and it is all good.
Thanks.

My sons both went there! I absolutely LOVED the program. Robbie graduated from their pre-school program. Noah was there only for one year before we moved - I love his new school even more than the Y (he will be graduating this year) - but the YMCA was absolutely FANTASTIC!

Re: Great South Bay YMCA
I am so glad to hear that. This is a silly question, do they only accept children at certain times of the year for their full time daycare program? I see some preschool have these requirements. I am so new to all of this. I tried calling them and left a message but they have not called me back. Should I go down there in person?
Thanks so much!!

Most schools accept based on the amount of room they have available. They have to follow strict rules about the amount of children per teacher - so if they already have the max amount of children they will not accept more. But they can put you on a wait list in case someone 'drops out' or moves or something. It is easier to get in before the year starts because they can determine the number of teachers and classes that they will need to alot based on enrollment.

My daughter goes there for the after school program and she loves it! My girlfriends son attends the daycare and they love it well.
They do so much with the kids, I def. recommend!
