Great tip for those doing extended PIO shots
At LI IVF I only had to do them for 4 days but at SIRM thats what they use and I have to do the shots myself. I got a script for EMLA cream (numbing cream) at CVS. It was a $7 co-pay for me. I put the cream on the spot an hour or more before I do the shot and then put a band aid over it. It does not hurt AT ALL when I inject. I have no bruises or lumps and thats with 2 weeks of nightly shots. Just thought I'd share.

Re: Great tip for those doing extended PIO shots
my twins were IVF and I did pio shots. EMLA ROCKS! I SAID SO SINCE DAY 1!!! and think about it....icing it? its a oil shot-if you put oil in the fridge look what happens? this is why I always did EMLA and never iced. I think I got a bruise maybe 1-2x. You can drive a spear through your butt and not feel it!

OMG! Awesome tip! Thank you. I used Emla when I went forn laser hair removal. I used to get it online from a Canadian pharmacy so I didn't need a script.
Thank you. I start my PIO end of next week and am nervous about it.
