Great Wolf Lodge- the hotel
How is it? I want to take DD there and would love to stay there since it's so convieninet, but I am reading some not so hot reviews on Trip Advisor about the hotel itself. Some pics of really run down looking rooms.
I am a bit of a hotel snob- I always willing to pay more to stay in a nicer, well maintained and updated hotel- even if it's a trip where we aren't in the room much.
Has anyone stayed at the hotel? How is it? Should I look offsite for lodging?

We were just there last week! The rooms were fine, beds a little lumpy but rooms were super-clean.
As far as staying off site, that's the catch there, you can't stay elsewhere, the ticket to the water park is built into the room price, hence the hefty price tag.

I never had any issues with the rooms, always cleaned. We are going to Six Flags great escapes water park in lake george next month...it was half the price of Great Wolf.

But can't I buy tickets to the waterpark without the hotel stay? Like say you lived near by and didn't need the hotel...

No You cant buy tickets to the waterpark...it's the benefit of staying in the hotel. They don't allow outside guests in to use the water park.

There's a place right down the road (same exact concept) that let's you come just for the day or you can stay there...It's a whole family lodge it's called split rock resort. We went there last year, stayed offsite and the kids had a blast....had the same amount of activities as great wolf.

Yes as much as i loved Great Wolf Lodge the rooms are not the nicest. It could do with a bit of a makeover. But i would still stay there again. The waterpark is really good and so are the other activities for the kids.
