Greco Fetal Heart Monitor - update
Did anyone else try this? I couldn't find the heartbeat last night . Of course I barely slept and now I'm waiting for my doctor's office to open.
***Everything is fine, I saw Peanut yesterday and he/she was moving around (we got mooned!) and the heartbeat was a steady 143

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
how many weeks are you?
ETA: i just saw you're about 16 weeks. i am sure everything is fine - even my OBs office had trouble finding the HB sometimes!
i would clal your OB because i know it will make you feel better but i really think you're okay.
i don't have any advice about how to use the doppler, maybe someone on here has more experience.

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
this is why I never bought one. Sometimes even my dr. had trouble finding the HB of one of the babies.

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
exactly why i didnt even think of buying one. they're not reliable. my dr's office wouldnt even use the doppler until min. 12 weeks, and even at one of my appt's they had a hard time finding it.
its enough to make you nuts...

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
Don't worry. It's probably the baby moved or is turned around. We have the same monitor and sometimes we couldn't hear it either. it's the way the baby is positioned. Also if he is moving alot.

Yes that was the same reason we didnt buy one. I went to a 12 week appt,a dn they could find it, and did a quick sono and low and behold there was little mans heart beating away

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
Are you talking about the $40 fetal heart monitor from BBB or BRU.
If so, the book says that you will not hear the heartbeat until the third trimester!
P.s. I am in the third trimester and still havent heard it using that thing.

same here! i didn't want to go crazy, like the poor OP is going. i would have been checking all day long, which isn't good for me or the baby.

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
I wouldn't worry. That is exactly why I refuse to buy one-I would be in hysterics. It is bad enough that I have a panic attack before seeing the OB. That is the last thing I need! I am sure everything is just fine. Sell the thing!

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
Thanks so much ! I spoke to my dr's office today and I'm going in tomorrow just to check. But they told me that those things are junk and not to use them. DH returned it this morning because he said that I am going to drive him nuts with worry if I keep trying to use it. I'm sure every thing will be fine, but I'll still feel better after I hear the heartbeat tomorrow.

Re: Greco Fetal Heart Monitor
i wouldn't worry... those things are not professional equipment. there were times when my OB had trouble finding the heartbeat using his equipment, not a monitor bought at BRU. i know you're feeling anxious, but i would try not to worry....
