Re: Green Card
When I was living in Vermont, a friend of mine asked if I would do this. Marriage is a ddeply important issue with me, so I declined. But it wasn't because I though he shouldn't have a right ot stay. I took it as a compliment. He loved America, and wanted to stay. I don't knwo if it's really the biggest concern in our immigration policy. There are far greater threats- he wasn't a hunted gorilla in his home country or anything. Just a good kid, wanting a better life. I say, if you pay taxes, you're welcome in my country. Not my problem if you're marriage is a sham.

Re: Green Card
Yes. Years ago, way before 9/11 a friend of mine married his lesbian roomate for a green card. She also married him so she coudl be on his health insurance, since she couldn't be on her girlfriend's. Listen, people get married for far worse reasons than that. They lived together for years after their marriage. I lost touch with him years ago so I don't know what ever happened. They had a better relationship than some married couples I know.
