Hi all. Anyone every use this RE? What was your experience with him/his office?

I go there. He did my egg retrieval today. He is very nice. The office staff is nice. Sometimes it gets really busy in there and I wish they had more people working. The wait could be long if they are busy, but at other times there is no wait at all. It really depends how many people are cycling around that time. I always go for monitoring very early 6:15 am so I can get out of there by 7 and go to work. He does all ultrasounds. He is very knowledgeable and takes your concerns and questions into consideration. I had 6 IUIs there and am now doing my first IVF. Overall I am having a good (well is IF could be good) experience. I chose this practice because I wanted a smaller practice with more personal attention ( he calls you often with test results) and people on here recommended him for a small practice. I really only considered him and one other small practice. If you have specific questions FM me. GL

THank you! my GYN recommended him because it is a small practice. I did LI-IVF when I was married and sometimes I got lost in the shuffle there I felt. I have some big decisions ahead of me, so knowing what you all think of him helps.

I am another patient of Dr. Z and he is great. I chose him because after going to RSofNY I really wanted personal attention. He does all the ultrasounds and calls with all test results. Each protocol is individualized and he is NOT cookie cutter. I have as much say as he does in my program.
I did my ER with him yesterday and he was really attentive.

You are welcome. Thats the reason why I chose a small practice- I didn't want to get lost in the shuffle. I have been going to him since January and I have a great relationship with the office staff. Dr. Zapantis is just a really nice guy who really cares. My DH likes him as well and feels comfortable going there. I would say set up a consult with him and see what you think. Some people set up multiple consults. I only consulted with him bc I liked him and got started right away. GL

I love that you said he is not cookie cutter. My previous RE said something that made my GYN's head spin and he said that cookie cutter RE's drive him insane :) I felt good when he made this recommendation and you girls are making me feel even better.

A girlfriend of mine who is super knowledgeable and has been to every doctor from here to Timbuktu swears by him and says he got the best response from her out of all her (many) cycles. She also said he has good bedside manner...that he left East Coast (now LIIVF) because he wanted to practice good medicine away from the influence of the corporate animal that drives those big practices.

I too, am a patient of Dr. Z! His bedside manner is amazing and he really takes the time to explain everything and come up with the plan that is right for you! The women in the office are patient and daring and take the time needle with you as well. I had a very positive reaction to Dr.Z and was pregnant in my first IUI cycle & both hubby and I had some issues! I graduate next week from the practice and I am so sad to leave!!
