Grieving taxes in Town of Babylon
Has anyone grieved their taxes on their own in Babylon? Is it worth it to use a grievance company? Any recs? I have heard about Mark Lewis and received an ad for another company in Rocky Point yesterday (can't remember the name).
If anyone did it themselves, did they wish they used a grievance company? Just want to see if this is doable or if we should just let a company handle it.

It's absolutely doable by yourself. I can also recommend some attorneys to handle it for you.

Re: Grieving taxes in Town of Babylon
Actually, the process is very easy. It's a little time consuming, but many people do it themselves with great results.
However, since you're in Babylon, you can't do anything until May. Filing periods in Suffolk County begin May 1 and end the third Tuesday of May.
The only thing you can do at this point, is to file your STAR application if you haven't already done so. That has to be submitted to the Town no later than March 1.
The Town of Babylon's website is a great place to at least start to poke around at the process.
