Gripe Water
Has anyone use this and had it help their baby? I'm grasping at straws here.

Re: Gripe Water
I tried it....... didn't really do anything
What DID work was chamomile tea.
I use loose chamomile (loose flowers) and brew the tea for about 5 minutes and give her about 2 ounces warm and it helps with belly pains and gas.

I'll try to get to the health food store for some today. If not I'll use my tea bags until then.

Re: Gripe Water
ok, I really feel compelled to chime in whenever gripe water conversations begin.... gripe water is a type of hollistic medicine.
Normal medications work at an optimal dose (ex 200 mg aspirin to cure a headache in an adult). Hollistic medicine is when 'drugs' are given at super-diluted concentrations (say 1pg) or almost trillionth of an effective dose.
what does this do? NOTHING. It's a placebo effect. Thing is, placebos work well in adults becuase they think they're getting something that will work. Babies don't even understand the concept of medication, so there's no placebo effect.
Add to this the fact that there is no set recipe for 'gripe water'.... (every brand is completely different!)... and it ends up smelling like a stinkin' heap of BS to this medical researcher.
It's only my opinion, but personally, I think gripe water is a waste of $..... HTH
