Grocery Store spinoff..
Do you use the self checkout more then a cashier? Or does it depend on the size of your order.
If I run in for 2 or 3 things, I use the self checkout. Large orders, I go to the cashier.

we use the self checkout just about every time we go. its easy when one scans and the other bags.

I used it once when the regular checkout had really long lines
It was a big PITA
After scanning 5 items it would tell me there was no more room, and I would have to run down and bag them, and then run up to start scanning again...
It took FOREVER
NEVER AGAIN

That voice makes me chuckle every time.
We don't have automated at my supermarket but if they did, I wouldn't use it. Something went wrong with the computer once and I stood there for 10 minutes while they tried to fix it. Wound up moving all my stuff to another one.

Exactly why I only use it for small orders.
If dh is with me, maybe we use it for larger orders, but sometimes those lines are longer than the regular lines.

I use the self-checkout depending on how long the regular lines are. if they are too long, i will go to self-checkout.

I always use it because DH and I shop together. I hate when people use it for big orders if they don't have someone with them to help bag.

I love self check-out!! I ran my first large order the other day and they had an attendent that kind of helped with the overflow on the lane. I was by myself but if DH was with me it would have been super fast!
They should make that area a little larger and the belt a little shorter.
But I think you should get a coupon or something since we are basically doing the cashiers work.

Our supermarket doesn't have self checkouts, I wish they did! I use PeaPod now anyway  But I do love, love using the ones at Home Depot. SO much easier!

same also king kullen and waldbaums don't have self so i only use it if i go to pathmark.
