gross issue...c-section flap...not staying dry..
with #1 this wasn't an issue...I had flap, but not as big as this time around. I weigh the same, but left with bigger flap. 2 weeks PP, down 30 lbs.
scar is red underneath...went to ob yesterday, they have me sticking gauze and maxi pads in it to keep it dry. anyone have this issue? its looking better already, but how long is this going to last? they said i have to be careful or it will turn to a yeast infection...which sucks since I had a non stop infection from like 19 weeks on till the second she came out!
i am showering twice a day, blow drying it...now sticking things in it...did you use a cream of any kind?
tia!
I knew it was going to be a problem this time around...right before they cut me, dr said, looks like you have a small rash near belly button...I said a stretched out rash? he says yes...I said like a bleeding stretch mark??
he says oh. dh is still in shock...someone who looks at big bellies all day long. so i was promised next year's tax return if i want to go fix it.

yes - i had to keep stuff 'in there' too. honestly - i just used the huge undies they gave me in the hospital and tucked if that makes any sense. i had no issues with any infection.
just be sure to keep it dry!

Janice, I had (and still have) the same problem.
I had been using cornstarch there every day to keep it dry, but found out that was actually doing MORE harm. It wound up turning into a yeast infection and they even found Strep B there
Ask your OB for a Nystatin prescription. This is the same stuff they use on newborns for the folds of their necks. I use some every day to keep problems at bay. It's the only thing that's ever worked.
I know, it's majorly gross, and annoying! GL
eta: Be careful of washing that area TOO often--that can make things worse, especially some soaps.

thanks!
everyday i feel like i am being haunted and should have vbac'ed it!
my first c was NOTHING. no recovery time, no meds...
this, omg. i am finally walking upright! now this. I guess it is a good thing that the redness is less then yesterday. just with pads in my bra, my granny panties, and now a pad in my stomach, i feel like a monster!
