Grouting Cracks

I have some cracks in between a few tiles on my kitchen floor and I want to grout the cracks. Is that fairly easly or should I hire someone to do it?

Thanks

Re: Grouting Cracks

What color is the grout? If it's a standard color, I don't think it would be too difficult to do it with a steady hand and the right tools.

But if it was a mixed color, something that you would have to match, that might be a problem.

Matching the color and type of grout might be difficult if you don't have extra around. Applying it should be fairly simple. Check with the installer or go to HD or Lowes and ask one of the guys in the tile department for the best way to go about it.

The color shouldn't be a problem. It's a newly purchased house and the old owner said that he left us the grout in the basement for some minor cracks in our kitchen tiles. I am assuming the grout matches since he's already purchased it for that.

I think I might have someone do it, just to avoid a possibly bad result.

Thanks girls

i just repaired some cracks that were in the grout in my shower tiles. it was incredibly easy and i'm not really a "handy" person! i don't think regrouting floor tiles would be much harder. i say give it a try!

I agree - if you already have the same grout originally used, it is a fairly simple job. It takes patience and a light hand but it's really easy.

It's easy. My dh, who was never that handy, did it and it came out great!

How do you do it? I am thinking about it for my bathroom.
