GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
I have high FSH so docs won't give me meds because the stimulate the amount of follies.
What medicine is used to mature a follie...not create more, although it would be great, but mature them. Is it the same stuff they give to make more follies? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks ladies

Re: GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
I'm not sure what you are trying to ask.
If you have really high FSH, most RE's would want to give you the higher dosages of meds to create more follicles. You would have a hard time creating any, so they would want to give you the opportunity to grow more than one.
A person with normal FSH may take Clomid to help mature follicles better and create better quality eggs, but this could also create more than one follicle. Clomid also would probably not work well on someone with high FSH.

Re: GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
I'm pretty sure Luveris matures the follies without creating more. I used gonal f to make follies until i got no more than 3 than i used the luveris to make those 3 mature , otherwise i always get way to many and i have to cancel. Ask about that.

Re: GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
Thank you. I will look ino this. Highest FSH 42 but recent FSH 11. I'm 45 and only have 2 or 3 antral follicles.
I just feel like my estrogen doesn't come up enough to give my ovaries the chance to mature eggs. I asked the RE this morning if he thought my numbers were low for the different times during my cycle. RE said that last month things were low but that could be an indication of my egg quality and reserve. Ahhh well, it sucks getting old. I just figured a little HRT might help. Thanks again ladies.

Re: GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
I know a few RE's do "estrogen priming" where they have you take estrogen shortly after you ovulate for approx. 10 days and then start stims.... Maybe ask your RE about that or find someone who does it.

Re: GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
I believe Cornell specializes in high fsh levels.. Are you going there? If not are you happy with your re? And do you think IUI is enough? I know as we get older our egg gets harder so the spem has a hard time penatrating.. Has he ever suggested IVF with ICSI? Or better yet have you tried IVF in the past? Do you have any prior pregnancies?

Re: GROWING FOLLIE SIZE
2 RE's told me IVF won't work because my ovaries won't respond due to the high FSH. Went to Cornell and they concur. Of course, blood work needs to be checked by each doctor and different readings at all times. Current RE readings are lower but I am not happy with IUI.
