Growth sono this afternoon! (and some questions)

I'm going for my 31 week checkup and a growth sono this afternoon!

I cannot wait to see the little guy again - it's been way too long! (11 weeks since the Level II )

How is the quality of the later sono's? Will we be able to see his face (assuming he cooperates )? Is it still too early to determine if he'll be on time or early?

the growth sono is exactly the same as your level 2. they measure the head, femur bone, stomach girth, look at all the vital organs and brain. So quality should be the same. A growth sono doesn't determine when u will deliver, even if you measure ahead, ur due date doesn't change. HTH and at the end of the sono u will get the weight and the percentile. Good Luck!

I had a growth sono last thursday. They just measure to see how big the baby is. Your due date does not change. And he could come early or still on time. It can't predict anything.

But we did get to see clear pic of him. He has really chubby cheeks and looks more like me then DH. You can really see his face more....If he copperates.

My growth sono was very late (38 weeks, dont know why my doc waits so long!). It was very quick, literally like 5 min. She gave us an estimate of the weight (my baby was 7lbs 7oz at 38 weeks, they assumed she will be an 8 pounder) and she took a bunch of other measurements, but didn't really tell me much about them. We got one really cute shot of the face to keep, it wasn't as good quality as the ones from my level 2 (we had gotten some 3d shots at ours) but it was amazing to see how much more the baby had grown appearance wise, so I love the little face pic I got to keep. Only annoying part for me was that I'm a paranoid person who wanted gender confirmation (wanted to make sure my little was still a little ) since we hadn't had a sono since 20 weeks, but she couldn't tell because she said there was a foot in the way. So I guess if they were wrong at the level 2 I'll be in for a big suprise in the delivery room. Good Luck
