Grr--LIRR commuters and non-regular riders

I haven't whined in a while but over the last few days I've been absolutely livid with some of these rude people.

PSA: If you have your IPOD on, please take a second to make sure that your volume is normal. I don't want to listen to your Snoop doggie sh!t through micro speakers..it already sounds like crap and then to have it bleed through....ugghh!! Also, your cell phone is ringing...could you answer it please. The last two times someone tried to reach you I was going to reach in your pocket to answer it. Is everyone deaf!!! Must be from the volume of their IPOD!

Don't use me as a table. I know you want to read your NY Times but learn how to fold it. You stretching it out in front of me to refold it again and again almost left me with one eye. Then please don't lean your arm on me while reading it. I know these seats are tight but you are a normal sized person with a lot of nerve. My the way, that was my hip bone you were leaning on.

Dude-you can't fit in the middle seat..you are 6'5 and weigh 300 pounds. The guy in the inside seat is about the same. He's already taking up 1.5 seats...there are other seats available like the one I moved to-to avoid being crushed.

I feel better now. Thanks so much for letting me vent.

Oh definitely not.

Just yesterday, I let one of those 6'5" guys in the middle and the islae armrest was piercing my side because I was squished so far into it, I finally got up and moved. I would have rather stood the whole way than deal with that.

Then this morning I hear this noise and the woman across from me says to another rider "What is that? A cell phone" Sure enough the guy behind her couldn't hear his own cell phone ringing.

My husband calls those guys a "DIM" (dude in the middle). You never want to be a DIM or be next to one. He thinks middle seats should be reserved only for women with minimum amounts of packages.

Seriously, we need to put a composite sketch of LIRR riders one day....

Like the girl that talks to a group of guys loudly so other people can hear her sexcapades or the drunken married guy (with his hand in his pocket) who hits on women because he wants to pretend he's still got it. needs Chat Icon

Oh yes!!! That happens all the time. When I have to get into a middle seat I always size up the space..if it's tight, I don't do it. But there have been times when the person begrudgingly gets up to let me in and lets out this very audible sigh...

too bad son..I paid for a ticket too..bite me

Yep, just stand there and hope I notice you.

Ah the audible sigh ...which of course comes after a tsk.

One of my very few confrontations was telling a tsk'er & her friends that all of their coats don't pay $200+ a month to commute.

and their huge bags as well. By the way, get your dirty feet off my seat too. This happens in the seats that face each other. I was getting off the train one day and passed two girls (early 20s) stretched out with their feet up on the seats and told them to take them off. They didn't move. So I got the conductor to do it.

The conductor laughed as he told them to remove theit feet. Nice..he's a wimp.

I love the audible sigh, tsk and dirty look people. If you sit on the outside of a two seater - expect to GET UP AND LET SOMEONE IN!

I purposely make people move their crap on the seat so I can sit in that seat. There are overhead racks for a reason - use them people!

This is the very reason I don't believe people can read minds. In my decades of commuting, I would have run into someone who could read my real thoughts as I sweetly say "Excuse me, could you please move your bags?"
