Grrr... I give up!
I'm seriously done with trying to find a sitter. UGH. I am soooo aggravated right now. DH and I have tickets to a Broadway show on Saturday. We spent a pretty penny on them counting on having a sitter for that night. Well, sitter #1 backed out last week. That's right, I said #1.
Then we called our backup, with very short notice obviously. "Sure, I can do it. " That was Monday. Last night SHE backed out on us. Mind you these people OFFERED themselves up as sitters for us. It's not like I went chasing after them. Why offer if you don't mean it?  
Our last resort is to drop him off at his regular weekday sitter. But we didn't want to do that because then we'll have to wake him up or mess up his sleeping schedule.
We had another girl (the daughter of a friend of ours from work) who offered herself up and said "I do weekends, holidays, everything. I'll even do NYE, if you need me!" Needless to say, we called on her for NYE and guess what??? Thaaaat's right, she couldn't do it. Now her father keeps asking us when we are going to call her because she "really wants to do it". Sorry but you screwed me once, I'm not going to let you do it again.
Why is a reliable sitter so hard to find? Do you have one? And if so, can I buy her off of you? 
Thanks for letting me vent.

I have a bunch of names. Also one of Joseph's first daycare teachers from when he was a baby just IM'd me that she's looking for a nanny position so I imagine she's looking for extra money.
And if you're looking for someone for free, you can just drop him off at my house. I'm watching my friend's daughter this Saturday & I'm home every Friday night.

And thank you, you're sweet for offering Barbara, but you are pretty far from me unfortunately. I'd appreciate it if you FM'd me the names your have for future baby sitting needs... I wouldn't be able to use any of them for saturday probably.

besides, the kid'll be in great hands!!! i'll even let him have some smores!!!!!

Mom is a daycare mom for the past 20yrs and I love kids. that should qualify me!!!!
I also happen to be available Sat nite
