GTGs next week - Atlantis aquarium and Splish Splash
Just to make sure I have it clear.
Please confirm for me.
Monday July 7th: Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead at 10 am
Tuesday July 8th: Splish Splash at 10am

call atlantis and see if the entire park is open now, we went last week and a huge part of the park was closed off for renovations and they still charge full price! it has been this way for a month they told us, we were a bit annoyed!
oh and a TON of things arent offered during the week like any of the shows, the outdoor crab area, it was really boring, sorry.

What much can we do with DC's at Splish Splash? I would love to go just to get in to the water myself, but what can we "do" there?

DS is only 1 so we are very limited. He cannot go on slides, etc.. I think he will just play in the water. I would love being in the water myself to play with him. It looks easier than the kiddie pool.

You are not limited at all. There is so much to do. They have swings in the water. They have little slides that you can hold DC and go down. They have a pirate ship pool and an elephant pool. There are a lot of younger ones there.

yea my DH was really annoyed, there literally was nothing to do but look at the fish, the sharks, feed the stingrays and thats it. the monkeys were sleeping high up barely see them, the sea lions only 1 was out and would make an appearance if he felt like it, the koi pond no more food to feed them, the penguins the glass was so filthy it was hard to see through them. we were really disappointed, we learned to go during the weekends when everything is open and available. but then a huge part of the park was closed off they were painting so DH goes to the gift shop where it was cut off and asked and they said oh its been like this for at least a month now and they didnt know when it will be done
to drive all the way out there from westbury and have really nothing to do there we were not happy campers. DD had fun running around freely since it was empty though.

I was just at Atlantis on Saturday. As far as I could see, everything is back and open! I think the reason they had a part sectioned off was because of the new Otter exhibit. Well, as of yesterday, it should be open

Sorry to hijack your thread ITA w/ this- I worked there a long time ago for like 4 summers (live out east and it was the easiest place to get a summer job- AND it's where i met my DH  )
Anyway, I used to take one of my friend's kids who was under 2 and she LOVED it!!!! There is a really nice kiddie area w/ swings etc.... and there's also the lazy river that they can sit w/ you on as well as the wave pool. I haven't been there in a while so I'm not sure what else is there but they used to have a sea lion show- but now it might be a diving show or some other type of water show. HTH!
ETA: if a bunch of you are going to the aquarium, why don't you call and ask to speak with the manager and tell them that at least x people/children will be coming out on x day to go to the aquarium and you've been told it's not 100% right now due to renovations and some bad recent experiences and do they have some sort of a discount package deal for you.... maybe they'll throw in something for you to get all of you to come. Just a thought....
I live out east on the north fork and was thinking about taking my brother's kids there this week... GL!!!

oh good so that part is open- just check website or call for info b/c on the flyer most stuff is only for weekends. maybe they changed it now that school is officially over that would be awesome!!!!!!!

Ohh Splish Splash, we love it there!! I can't go that day though. If you are an optimum rewards member, you can get discount tickets OR you can go to PC Richard and pick up a $7.00 off coupon. Also, there is a coupon in the Clipper magazine. Children 3 and under are free in case you weren't aware!!
