Re: Guess what I woke up to this morning?! UPDATED
that is true - the trigger shot is HCG so you will test positive for several days after it.
i tested out my trigger shot with HPTs - it was positive until 7DPO and after that it was negative.
did you have a subcutaneous one (in the belly) or an intramuscular (in the butt or other muscle)?
the reason i ask is because the sub-q one generally has less HCG so its out of your system faster. if its ovidrel its sub-q.
i would think by 11DPO it would be gone but this is my first one so i dont have any other experience with it. i just know mine was out by 6DPO..

Re: Guess what I woke up to this morning?! UPDATED
I wouldn't worry too much about the trigger shot. I can tell you from experience...............when I was pregnant with my DD I had the trigger shot and IUI and I tested BFN at 9DPIUI and then got my BFP at 10DPIUI and 9 months later I was holding her in my arms. Usually the trigger shot is out of your system within a few days. Seriously, don't get down about it. There is lots and lot of hope still and I am sure you're BFP was for real!!!
EDIT - I took Ovidrel and had the shot in my arm.

It was Ovidrel but it was in the back of my arm. I couldnt tell if she meant that it's USUALLY in your system for 2 weeks or it can POSSIBLY be in your system for up to two weeks....
So you're saying you took HPT's in the begining of your 2ww specifically to test when the trigger shot hcg wore off? And once you stopped getting BFP's you knew it was out of your system? That's smart. Had I known about this before I could have done the same thing. Thanks for the info!

Re: Guess what I woke up to this morning?! UPDATED
Ok...so of course I googled "how long does hcg stay in your system after trigger shot" and after looking at a few different sites and chat boards it seems that 10 days is the most common answer. That would mean hopefully mine was out by this past Sunday and I tested Tuesday morning. So my spirit has been lifted! I know they told me to wait till Friday to test but I think Im going to tomorrow morning just to see.

if its ovidrel i would guess its out of your system before 11DPO - but obv im not a doctor.
so yes i tested out the trigger from like 2 or 3DPO until the tests came out negative around 6DPO and then i stopped using them until 12DPO which when i decided to start testing for real.
the thing with trigger-related BFP's is that they continually get lighter and lighter until they are negative, as the HCG leaves your system. if they start to get darker and darker its usually a sign of the real thing. so if you test again (only if you want to obviously) and its darker than yesterday thats a sign of HCG building and is probably not related to the trigger.

When I tested yesterday it was with a digital so I dont even know how dark it was to compare. And I even thought to myself to break it open and see but then I figured why bother? I should've....
All the websites say that it depends on your dosage of how long it stays for because generally you lose 1000iu a day and most shots are 10,000 so that's how they get their 10 day answer. But I dont know how much I had so that doesn't really help me.

Don't give up hope, stay positive and see what happens.
I have heard from many girls that they had no symptoms what so ever when they got BFP

Well I tested again this morning and it was still a BFP! I got my trigger two weeks ago from today so I really feel like it should be completely gone by now. The RE said I can test on Friday the earliest and then if it's still + I can go in for my bloodwork. So now I just have to wait till tomorrow and hope I get the same results!
