Gymboree Classes for my 17 mth old.
Do you think my DD is too young for these classes, and can you tell me what you do there.
Do you think youre little one really enjoys going or can do without.

Re: Gymboree Classes for my 17 mth old.
I started Kerri at 18 months and she loves it! She does everything there, jumping, climbing, dancing, singing, tumbling, etc. She learns about big and little, hard and soft, over and under, etc.
I say go for it

I started dd at 16 months and she really enjoys it. I also love the open playgyms and use them weekly. We attend St. James but use a couple of other locations for playgym.

Re: Gymboree Classes for my 17 mth old.
I'm a Gymboree teacher at Oakdale and St James (but our franchise owns all of the Gymborees on Long Island). Our classes start at 6 weeks old, but the bulk of our enrollments are in our Level 4 (16-22 month class, which is what your DC would be in). So a lot of children start at that age.
Any questions, feel free to FM me!

I don't think she's too young at all, that's a great age to start. DD started Music @ 6 mos & is now 2 years old in Level 5 Gym & this will be our final Session, she has loved it since Day 1!

Im glad you posted this!
I have held off on Gymboree for so long thinking that DS wouldn't get too much out of it, but now that he's 16 months old I am going to be signing him up very shortly.. I'm glad to hear such positive feedback

Re: Gymboree Classes for my 17 mth old.
18mo is so not to small. DS started at 2 and 1/2 months and has loved everyday of it. We are in level 4 now. What you do depends upon the class there is gym , music, art... we took gym and music. DS prefers gym so we stuck with that. Every 2 weeks they change the theme of the class i.e. high and low or stop and go.... they will for each class do activities that pertain to the lesson - high low: go down a high slide then low slide, climb a high ramp then low ramp, walk or crawl on a high bridge and low bridge stop and go: do an activitiy and you say go go to encourage them to start the activity then say stop to have them stop-yes they are little and will not fully listen but you will be surprised even a few months later DC will remember the lesson and shock you! Have fun! P.S. the one in the Broadway Mall in Hicksville is closing and opening at the Source Mall (Fortunoff-Garden City area)

Re: Gymboree Classes for my 17 mth old.
We recently had a GTG at the Woodbury Gymboree. All the kids around that age and younger loved it!
We have been members of My Gym since DD was 7 months and it's been great. Obviously, it's the same concept with classes.

Re: Gymboree Classes for my 17 mth old.
I started Alex at 4 months old and she has loved it since the beginning. So your 17 month old is definitely NOT too young!
