Gyms with childcare
Hey ladies
I've been MIA from LIF for a bit ...wasn't a big poster...but I'm back....SO HI!!!
I am looking into joining a gym now that DD2 is a bit older.
Criteria for the gym
-great babysitting staff ...i've never left either of my girls with anyone other than their grandmothers and 1 great aunt so it will be the first time someone other than family will be caring for my child. (Do these places screen the staff?? just wondering)
-up to date equipment (cardio and weights)
-decent classes
-and in the Bellmore/Merrick/Wantagh area
I know....picky picky LOL

I don't live in your neck of the woods but I would definitely ask about the childcare when scoping out gyms. The gym I go to will come and get me if my DD so much as farts . I think that's funny but I am relieved that there will never be an issue that I have to worry about.
My gym doesn't have classes either so I am no help there.

World Gym in Wantagh is where i go and many of my friends use the daycare there. They are a bit pricey but I heard their daycare is great.

i guess it really depends on what you want to spend...
will you be taking mainly classes or using the equipment?
LA fitness in leveittown has new equipment, very nice days care (never met the staff though) and tons of classes.
they were bought out ballys but just opened up that new location (nears BJs)
Golds & NYCS have good equipment, but for me the classes were eh... they are also on the pricier side (of what i was looking for)
Lucille Roberts in Massapequa, have ok equipment but i LOVE their classes.. they fit perfectly for me... i love their baby sitting staff, but it can get very very crowded on Monday & Wed mornings...
LR is also on the cheap side and its all women (which is also what i liked)
those are the only ones i know of first hand
i am in Bellmore, and i go to the LR in RVC, Massapequa and Plainview

can you tell me more about the childcare at lucille roberts in massapequa? is it clean? what is the policy for coming and getting you out of a class? any input you have i greatly appreciate :)

I joined here a few months ago. I am happy with their childcare.
