Gyno/OBGYN Recommendations near port jeff/setauket
I would need someone that could deliver at St Charles, since my insurance doesn't cover Stony Brook hospital anymore (the empire plan)
looking for an office that has night appointments and Saturdays would be great!
I was looking into suffolk obgyn but I read a lot of mixed reviews on here. And the Dr I wanted to see doesn't accept my insurance-Dr Petracos
I'm so tired of the snotty office staff at the current office I go to, and my Dr doesn't delivery babies anymore. Besides, I have moved east, so its a PIA to get there

I see Dr. Jerry Ninia in Port Jeff. He delivers at St. Charles. I am very happy with him and his staff. I usually see the NP, Cecelia. She is so sweet and knowledgeable. They have evening office hours and are open one Saturday a month. 331-0500

I was an ex-patient of suffolk obgyn. I wouldn't recommend it.
I now go to the Stony Brook Midwives. LOVE THEM! But they deliver at SB. I thought I read that SB and Empire worked everything out?

Although he's not my doctor...a lot of my friends use Ninia. He is supposed to be really great. I am moving to Mt. Sinai and will prob be switching after this baby, b/c my docs are in W. Islip.

I'm pretty sure the Stony Brook/Empire thing was worked out a few months ago....I hope so b/c that's where I'm delivering next month and I have Empire. My friend just delivered there and she has the same insurance I do.
We both use Three Village Women's Health...I have been very happy with them. They're located next to the Wild by Nature shopping center in E. Setauket.

i have this insurance and just delivered DS at SB 7 weeks ago... everything was fixed a while ago... with DD I went to Suffolk OBGYN, but they stopped accepting the Empire/NYSHIP- so that is why I switched to Three Village...

I have Empire and I have a written letter from Stony Brook dated a month ago saying I have been cleared through insurance for a delivery there. They were able to settle the disputes a few months back and there are no issues anymore. I see Dr. Lochner/Porte/O'Keefe/Welishar. Not sure the actual name of the practice but they are UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I never wait more than 20 minutes to be seen and they are just a fabulous group. I can't rave enough about them! They are located on 25A in Setauket as well... right next to Mario's restaurant ( a 1/2 mile past Wild By Nature coming westbound) The number is 751-7575 if you are interested! Good luck!

Exactly what happened with us, I used Suffolk OB for DD#1 but then had to switch after that pregnancy b/c they stopped taking the insurance. Went to Three Village based on a lot of recommendations and have been very happy there!
