Had to get my steroids for LO lungs today!
I am 28 wks PG.
Went to my weekly cervical check sono today and my cervix shortened drastically in the past week. It went from 2.3 cm to 1.2 cm!!! Thankfully the cerclage is holding everything in place so im not dilating, but my dr was still concerned. He had me go straight to Winthrop to get my first steroid for the babies lungs. I have to go back tomorrow to get the 2nd one.
I had the steroids at 32 wks with DS so I'm not concerned with the effects of them, but it still kinda freaked me out.
I thought I was doing better, not worse

ETA: did he do that just in case?
I understand that steroids helps in the develop of the lungs.
I also am a wk behind you and will be in Winthrop...so maybe we will be there together!

I had to get them at 31 weeks bc i'm 2.5 dialated, it hurt right?!

yeah im high-risk, on strict bed rest and am being monitored 2x/wk so i knew i would get the steroids at some pt, but last week he was so impressed with how much better i was doing (cervix had gotten a little longer, no contractions) so i let myself get excited that things were looking up. i guess this was just a wake-up call that i cant "cheat" on my bed rest at all...i was out and about a little this weekend getting the nursery ready...that obviously wasnt the greatest idea!
my EDD is technically july 12, but they will not let me go past 37 wks, so i will deliver no later than june 23 or so. so we probably wont be due date twins

Try and not worry. From what you have posted it seems like your doctor is really on top of things. The steroids were given as a precaution and will only help should they be born early.
I had the steroids at both 26 weeks and 31 weeks while I was in the hospital for preterm labor....
I was 50% effaced and a fingertip dialated at 26 weeks...
2 cms dialated at 31 weeks and 75% effaced...
Preterm labor twice that they were able to stop...
I even have an underlying condition that causes my cervix to turn to mush (for lack of a better term)
With bedrest and meds I was able to keep them in until 35 weeks...
So there is hope for them to make it until then. Just stay off your feet...
