hair and eye color question
OK, so DD was born with a little bit of hair, and I'm noticing its falling out, I'm not surprised I thought it would happen, it happened to me when I was a baby, I was wondering when it would grow back...if anyone had this with their DC's..... I think she's going to have darker hair so I was wondering when it was going to come in... Also her eyes are extremely blue, like see through blue, and am pretty sure its going to stay that way, but was wondering when if ur DC's eye color changed, when it did? THANKS....

Re: hair and eye color question
Hey
DDs hair fell out one month after her birth. It grew back the same color about a month after, and isclearly growing more now at 3 mths.
I heard eye color can change up to one year from birth. I actually did a thread on this not long ago if you search.

Re: hair and eye color question
my son was born with a decent amount of medium brown hair, which is now a very light brown (almost straw colored).
his eyes started out as hazel but i feel like they are more brown every day. hard to tell *exactly* when the color changed, though, it was more gradual...
ETA: he is 16 months

Re: hair and eye color question
my son was born with dark brown, almost black hair when he was born. It lightened up and now the new hair that is growing in is dirty blonde more or less. It took a few months for his hair to fill in (the hair that he lost).
Ds was born with blue eyes and at 8 months, they're still blue.

Re: hair and eye color question
Im only speaking in generalities here....
Generally if a babies eyes get lighter from when they are born they will stay light...what shade of light is pretty much up for grabs.
If a baby is born without blue eyes you can bet that his/her eyes will be brown or black...
If a baby is born with dark dark hair and yet their eyebrows and eyelashes are lightish..you can be that their hair will be lighter as the baby hair falls out and is replaced...

Re: hair and eye color question
DS was born with almost no hair, and except from a small bald spot he got from sleeping on his back, he hasn't lost any - the front has actually gotten longer, and it's still very light, like mine was as a baby.
as far as eyes, i can't help you there - his were very very dark the day he was born, and turned brown/grey almost immediately.

Re: hair and eye color question
His eyes changed very gradually, so I can't really say when. They started out as a very dark blue. They were gorgeous but I knew that not many people keep a dark blue color! Now they are light brown. I would have loved blue but I still love my DS's eyes. I think that starting out with such a light shade of blue is a good sign that your child's eyes might stay blue!!

Re: hair and eye color question
DS's eyes were bright blue for the first 6 months. DH's family is all blue, as is my father's family. they're slowly becoming grey/hazel/green/brown. every day they look different, so i'm assuming they're hazel.
the ped was convinced they would stay blue because they were so light...he was wrong

Re: hair and eye color question
my DS was born with very dark brown hair and very dark brown eyes, they turned very lightish rich blue color in the first three months, and DS is almost 7 months and they continue to be blue, his hair is currently a llight dirty blonde, althought he was super dark when he was born, his skin color also has gotten much lighter since his birth.
He was all my husband when he was born, now he is looking more like me.

Re: hair and eye color question
Teddy had crystal clear blue eyes until 11 months we woke up one day and boom hazel the next boom chocolate brown. I have very light eyes and hubby has brown. The brown is the more dominate gene. Also teddy's hair fell our after 2 months and grew back a month later.

Re: hair and eye color question
DD was born with a ton of dark hair. It fell out on the sides and has grown in lighter (light brownish). She was born with blue eyes and they have gotten lighter.
I have heard that eye color can change as late as two years even and that the darker the color the more likely to change. In any case, as long as DD can see, I'm fine with whatever the color.

Re: hair and eye color question
My DD was born with blue gray eyes. Gradually throughout the first year they started to darken and ended up hazel. Chances are if your DCs eyes are that light they will remain blue.
As for hair, we went through the monk phase. She lost most of her newborn hair and at one point had a bald spot. Then it bagan to grow longer in. Her hair is now a light brown as opposed to the dark brown she was born with.
