Hair and shoe question for "Mad Men" style cocktail party...
So, my DH is turning 40  and we are throwing a retro 60s cocktail party next weekend to celebrate...
I've got the dress, the pearls, the false eyelashes and the garters  , but I have a hair question and a shoe question...
1) I am planning to get my hair cut and colored the day of. I want them to style it like this...
(How beautiful was Mary Tyler Moore?  )
Do you think this is involved like with rollers and stuff that I have to ask them if they can do it in advance? Or can I just walk in, show the picture and that be that?
2) Here's the dress (which looks a little more a-line in person)...what shoe do you think would work best bearing in mind the era? Closed? Slingback? Patent? etc. etc....

She certainly was beautiful ! And that dres is gorgeous.
I would probally go with the patent shoe. I like the theme of the party.
