Hair changes and gender
I remember hearing something about changes in your hair being a sign of what you are having. I know these are ridiculous but does anyone know what this one is? My DH said my hair looked so healthy and shiny today!

thicker, fuller and shinner are signs of a boy
thinner and a little dryer are signs of a girl

Re: Hair changes and gender
my hair got soooo full and thick and I'm having a girl (or so they say.)
Actually my hairdresser said folic acid and your hormones prevent your hair from falling out as much as normal during pregnancy. That it's quite common/normal for your hair to get thicker during pregnancy regardless of the sex. A few months after you stop your vitamin, all that hair that should have come out - will.
Sorry I'm no fun huh?

although there are conditions some women develop while pregnant [and only while pregnant] where their hair thins. ricky proehl's wife [football player] wason my local news station as an anchor[only reason i know a football player's name] and she had this happen...while pregnant with their son. after he was born, her hair stopped falling out.

snuggleupagus - there's always exceptions...I'm speaking generally. There's aren't many symptoms that everyone experiences.

Re: Hair changes and gender
I've always had fine, thin hair- I'm having a boy and it got thicker- the only "nice" side effect- other than that I am swollen with water and my face is breaking out! I'll take my thin hair back!

Re: Hair changes and gender
My hair got thinner, drier and frizzier and I'm having a boy, so I guess the old wives tale isn't true for me.

Re: Hair changes and gender
I'm having a boy and I went from having to shave every week to forgetting the last time I shaved.
My hair was always thick and it's the same...

Oh I knew that! I was just pointing out that there is a condition where the hair thins and not just a little...we're talking bald spot[s] so I just didn't want someone to read a thread randomly and think all pregnant women get super thick hair...some get thin, and some get really thin.
