hair desser and signed release
anyone else's hair dress taking temps, report you if 99.9 and over, and having you sign a release?
editing, report to the CDC if temp is 99.9 (supposed to), must wear a mask, will give me hand sanitizor at the door,\.
she is tested for COVID every 2 weeks, and I have to sign a wavier
and not blowing out any hair the first 2 weeks she is open.
only she will be in the salon no helpers or or stylists

Re: hair desser and signed release
Who are they reporting you to if your temp is over 99.9?
Most places (drs offices have always been doing it and now I’m seeing it with salons reopening) take your temp. The release I wouldn’t have much of a problem with and I have heard if it.

Re: hair desser and signed release
Haven't heard of that. I'd sign a release though. I have no intention of suing anyone if I get sick. How do you even prove where you caught something. And who are they reporting you to? Just because you have a temp over 99.9 doesn't mean you have Covid

Hairdressers are taking temps. And honestly they have always been supposed to have you sign releases to protect themselves but most never do. Who did they say they would “report” to if temp Was over 99?

That’s strange. What good will a release do? If your temp is 100 or more, they should send you home. Who/ what are you releasing from liability if you’re the one with a fever? Sounds useless to me

I’m confused about reporting you... where will they report you to the “Fever Police”? Lol.

Ok so what is your question? Are you curious all salons are following same procedure? I’m sure you will find some breaking the rules...

I guess, it seems odd. My mom's hair dresses did not mention any of this to her, but she will see on Thursday when she goes.
Yes, I wanted to know if others are being told them same and signing the wavier etc

Report you to the CDC for having a temp over 99.9? What is the CDC going to do? I didn't know the CDC got involved in a random person on long Island with a fever

Seriously!! Does this hairdresser remember the plethora of other reasons people can get a fever?

Re: hair desser and signed release
Nope everything was pretty normal when I went yesterday. Except the masks, sanitizing constantly and the plastic between seats. They have all my info and just had hand sanitizer at the door which I used even though I hate it and never use it. I felt like normal and it was wonderful.

I'm sure she does, she will just send me or anyone home and ask they come back in 2 weeks.
It's her license so I guess she is being extra careful.
I'm waiting, I want my hair blown out

Our hairdresser is taking temps, having us sign waivers, and has to be tested every two weeks in Phase 2 (which hopefully is just two weeks). If our temp is over 99 though we get sent home, I don’t think they report us.

Re: hair desser and signed release
If someone is threatening to report me to the CDC then I would be finding somewhere new to go. That’s a joke and no I have not heard of any other salons doing that. I haven’t heard of anyone doing that.

There is absolutely no requirement that they take a customers’ temp, or that they report anything to the CDC. I don’t think there’s even any reporting mechanism for that. If they want to screen customers’s temperature, they can choose to do so, but it’s not required.

There may not be a requirement but I would think a business owner could refuse service to a customer that refuses to allow temp checks. Do returns to his office tomorrow and they will have mandatory temp checks when they enter the office. I don't see how one is diff than the other.

Idc about taking temps if it makes people feel better but to report it to the CDC? Who has that time and the CDC doesn’t have anything better to do than collect unnecessary data?
I remember going to the doctor when I was sick and I said I had a fever. When I said it was 99.x, he looked at me like I was crazy and said that’s not really a fever lol. That’s so low grade, I can’t imagine 99.x is useful information.

Yes, businesses can certainly require it for employees. And they can also screen customers or clients. But it is definitely not required that they screen customers. And there is absolutely no requirement to report this info to the CDC. I can’t imagine that the CDC is going to want to collect temperature reading for millions of salon customers across the country everyday.

Yeah I think the CDC thing might be false information honestly. What are they going to do with that info? A fever in itself means nothing. I used to get a fever with a common cold

There is no reporting of it to the CDC. The hair dresser is talking out of her @ss. Maybe she is just trying to ensure that sick people don't come to her, because as we all have experience with, people have never cared about spreading their colds and such. My temp is taken every day at work. It doesn't get reported to the CDC. If it's 99.9 or over I would get sent home.
