Hair salon gave me the wrong coat!! WWYD??

What would you do on this situation? Here's the background:

I went to my hair salon last Thursday night. The coat closet is behind the counter, and I handed my coat to one of the girls at the front desk. After 2 hours and $200 later, I ask for my coat.
I say, "It's a short, black puffy coat with a zipper."
Girl goes into the closet, comes out and says, "Kenneth Cole?"
I reply, "Yes." I take the coat and leave.

The next morning I put the coat on, and reach in the pockets for my gloves. They aren't there. I pull out two pens instead. I freak out. It's NOT my coat. They gave me someone else's black Kenneth Cole jacket. I'm so ******. I really liked that jacket and it fit so well, plus I loved the suede gloves I had in the pocket.

I called the salon first thing in the morning and tell them what happened. They take my name and number and say, "We'll call you if anyone brings in YOUR coat."

I waited all weekend, and no call.

Now what do I do?
- Do I demand that they call all of their clients that were there that night (could be over 30 ppl)?
- Do I insist that they reimburse me for the coat?
- Am I S-o-o-L?

I think they should call all their clients that were that day.
That would be the right thing to do

I'd absolutely make them find out where your coat is. They made the mistake!

At my salon if you hang up your coat in the room it is not their problem. Unfortunatly I dont think they will do much but maybe they call some of there customers.. goodluck

My husband's first suggestion was to make them call all of their clients.

I do think it was their fault because they took my coat from me, and handed me the wrong one back. I didn't have the option to hang my own coat.

Whoever has my coat might not realize for weeks, and at that point, I don't want it back, but I would want to be reimbursed for it!
