hair straightening question

I got my hair straightened like two weeks ago with the Bio Ionic system. It's great and reduced my hair drying time by an hour... but yesterday I noticed I had a little dandruff on the back of my black coat (which I've never had before) and today I've been examing my roots all day to see what it looks like and when I touch my roots or run my finger along the part in my hair, the hair feels brittle and rough, almost like a dolby pad! The rest of my hair is fine and shiny and looks healthy. Is this normal??

Re: hair straightening question

I have had that system done to my hair

and I never had an issues with it

but I do know it's NOT suppose to touch your scalp - so maybe she didn't get a close as she should have

or she got too close

those would be my only guesses

they make alot of products that work with that system- I would try using some of them

or bio silk- which I swear by

Re: hair straightening question

Ive had BIO Ionic done but never had that problem, with that particular brand so to speak.

Its more of a issue of your stylist getting too close to your roots with the product.

The first time I got JHS done they put it on my scalp in certain places and I had MAJOR flaking Im talking chunks of dry flakey stuff coming off my scalp (it wasnt dandruff tho, but the chemicals drying out my scalp) and then parts of my hair broke off maybe between 2 weeks after that, it was a gradual breakage tho.

Hopefully this is not the case for you.

It may also be due to prolonged heat exposure of your hair dryer?

Go back to where you got it done, they should do a scalp treatment for you. It must have gotten on your scalp or they didnt rinse it well enough.
Good Luck!

Re: hair straightening question

OMG is my hair going to be destroyed from this? It stills feels coarse all by my roots Chat Icon

I don't think its from the blow dryer... I've been blowing it out but then I'll just touch it up with the flat iron so I'm only doing blow outs maybe every 3 or 4 days....

I knew this was too good to be true Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: hair straightening question

The coarseness i think youre feeling is your new hair growing in.

It feels weird when i first get it done because my hair is naturally very curly..think tight curls and slightly coarse.

Its JMO on my hair personally. Ive ben getting JHS for 4 yrs now.
