Hairdresser spinoff....Do you have a favorite stylist/ salon?
I know that I have tried SO many different salons & haven't really ever LOVED the way a haircut has come out.
I have tried:
Christie's (bayside) Studio Z (bayside) Anntaj (great neck) Maximus (westbury) Supercuts (not sure why I went there) and a couple of others in the city..don't remember the names.
This is why I only get a haircut once a year

Re: Hairdresser spinoff....Do you have a favorite hairdresser?
OMG, so many places. I have had the same lady cut my hair for 9 yrs. Before her the woman who cut is did it for 14 yrs. I am VERY picky about who does my hair. I moved to NC and STILL have my lady cut it when I go up to visit.

Katherine @ Maximus in Westbury was my go to girl for years .........Then she had a baby and my last 2 cuts were just 'eh' - not BAD, but not good either .
Then I went to Devachan b/c everyone said I HAD to go there ..........Worst Salon experience EVER !!! - After 2 months my hair still is a disaster !

I used Christies once and never went back for a haircut. Very overpriced and it came out the same as if I went to the Lemon Tree.
I have been going to International Haircutters on and off for the past 21 years. Valerie (started with her when I was .. gulp 14). Still use her or another great hairdresser(went to high school with her) Dina. Both are great.

I've been going to the same place since I was really young. I've never walked out unhappy! They did my hair and makeup for my wedding day too!
I go to Marco's in Queens. They are expensive but I trust them and I am always happy with my hair.

Re: Hairdresser spinoff....Do you have a favorite stylist/ salon?
To me it's more about the stylist than the salon If I had someone GREAT at the Lemon Tree- I'd go there. (Though that will NEVER happen! )
Recently I have been going to the salon at Ulta because I found a great girl there. They aren't cheap but they aren't overly expensive either. About average prices. But the good part is- if you get the Ulta rewards card- you can rack up points for all your hair services as well as your cosmetic purchases there- so i have actually earned free haircuts, free perfumes, free cosmetics.
I feel better that at least I am getting something back ya know?

I had no idea Ulta had a salon! I'm going to have to try it. Where is it located?

Re: Hairdresser spinoff....Do you have a favorite stylist/ salon?
I LOVED Jen at Ulta in Patchogue but she left :( I just made an appt for Salon Ulta in Wantagh with Lisa for Sat..I am a little scared..I don't like change but she did my friends hair and it looked great..so I am hopeful. I have tried Christies and Studio Z in Bayside and did not like either.

Re: Hairdresser spinoff....Do you have a favorite stylist/ salon?
I use to go to Christies in Bayside, and left after the owner totally f*%^ed up my hair (i got highlights). It was so bad and she charged me so much money for it too and she knew how bad it was.
I have been going to Lovella Salon on 68th and 2nd Avenue. I love the cut and color I get from them although I walk out paying $200.
I also like Micchiche Salon in Forest Hills.

I think all the Ulta stores have one in the store. I go to the one in Patchogue but I know Commack has one and so does Lake Grove....
