Halloween Movie Spinoff - What movie scares that $*!% out of you?
I'll go first - Exorcist!
I couldn't sleep for months after seeing it. Granted I was 10 years old so I really shouldn't have seen it then, but yeah, even now many years later I wouldn't want to chance it.

It has to be realistic scary. I don't like supernatural stuff- it doesn't scare me at all.
So things like When a Stranger Calls (made me cry the first time I saw it I was so scared)

Stuff like that

I won't even watch anything like that because it scares me so bad! I prefer the supernatural stuff because I don't really believe so I can sleep at night.
ETA: I hate gory movies, too. No Saw for me... even the commercials would creep me out!

Oh I forgot the Shining.
LOVE that one.
And Rosemary's Baby is my all time favorite horror movie. Just for the sheer creepiness of it- that building it takes place in.
Just love watching it

Anything with a supernatural or religious element scare the cr*p out of me. The Amityville Horror House scared me for years after, probably because I was only 8 when I saw it the first time. Throughout my childhood I was afraid to look out the window at night bc I thought I would see those little glowing pig eyes looking back at me!

This is how I am too. Gory stuff doesn't bother me. It's the ghost/spirit/supernatural stuff that really freaks me out.
The Ring, Annabelle, The Conjuring & The Conjuring 2, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Others, and Paranormal Activity are a few that really mess me up. The first time I saw The Conjuring I literally had panic attacks for a month afterwards

OMG yes!!! This movie still freaks me out after all these years. When she says "why are you doing this to us?" and the response is "because you were home" shit I still get chills when I think of that line!

The only movies that really had me in a state of panic - for a couple weeks straight - are The Fourth Kind and Fire in the Sky.
I can take gore, supernatural, occult, etc. but movies about alien invasion/abduction freak me the hell out.

When this first came out in theaters and they were running the commercials for it on TV, I used to sleep alone 5 nights a week because DH was working. I would fall asleep with the TV on in the bedroom and wake up to the ad for it. There was like a phonograph that played some creepy music in the commercial. I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep after that. And I hadn't even seen the movie yet!
Did you know they have a sequel? I saw it On Demand a few months ago.
Also very scary....
