Halloween question
Normally we give out candy but this year, I’m thinking of snack packs of chips and stuff. I just don’t want all that extra candy.
Good or bad idea?

Re: Halloween question
I like when DD gets some chip packs. She gets soooo much candy that a little something different is always nice

Re: Halloween question
We have candy, but we also always have non-food items. It's part of the Teal Pumpkin Project to allow kids that have food allergies the ability to still trick-or-treat, but not have to worry about food allergies with the treats they get.
Stickers, pencils, small toys from the dollar store, etc. We've been surprised at how many kids that don't have allergies take the non-candy items. And we have a variety of full-size candy bars, but they sometimes still go for the non-candy.

I do this, too.
I like the idea of snacks and might steal it.

Re: Halloween question
My kids like snacks too and will some times eat them while we are still out. Little water bottles are nice too

Re: Halloween question
I give both candy and pretzels or chips as options. I would say they are chosen at equal rates. The reason I provide chips is for a nut free option.

Re: Halloween question
The Halloween pretzels are the best and I liked having extras to throw in for the kids lunches (and my own lol).

I love the chips when they get them. Saves me some lunch snack money.
