hard lump after shots??
my ds got 2 shots 2 weeks ago...the first few days after it was a little red and the area felt very hard...Now the redness is gone, but the area is still hard....is this okay?
I called my dr. a few days after the shots to see and they said it was normal, but now here we are 2 weeks later..

It happened to DS. It took some time to go away but it did.

Taylor had a hard lump in her thigh for about a week after shots.

DS did too. I hated it and put warm compresses on it and massaged it gently to help. Not sure if it did but I felt better about it.

Ds had it on his arm after his last shot. I think it took about a week to go away.

My ds also had it and I actually think it lasted about 3wks, the nurse at my peds said it could last up to 4wks.

Maddie's took a loooong time to go away. It was almost a month of that hard lump on her thighs. I would massage it every day to try to get it down. (didn't work)

my DS had the same thing. I ask the nurse on our next visit and she says it happens because the muscle tenses up while getting the shot and thats what causes a little knot which is what you feel. It will go away.

its normal. its a hemotoma. it will go away on its own.
