Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
While I can't wait to read it I am a little fuzzy on how the last book ended, it was so long ago when I read it
I remember Harry confronting Voldemort at the end of the book...but not the details...Help!

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
My library sent an e-mail regarding the distribution of this book. It's coming to the branch shrink-wrapped, must be signed for, and locked in the manager's office til the release date. our tech dept will check the time each book was issued. They can't be checked out til the library's official opening time. That means if a copy's checked out at 10 am, and the branch doesn't open til 1, then a staff member checked it out for themselves. AND WE'LL GET IN TROUBLE FOR IT!!!
Homeland security should be this strict!!!

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
i'll try to explain the end, but i'm not sure how far back in the book you need me to go? so harry and voldemort confront each other in the ministry of magic where harry, hermione, ron, neville, luna and ginny had gone, they thought to rescue sirius. turns out the vision harry had of sirius there was a ruse by voldemort to get harry there. the reason voldemort wanted harry there was b/c that is where the prophecy about them is kept and only someone who the prophecy is about can get it. harry and the others end up fighting a bunch of death eaters, somewhere during the struggle the prophecy gets dropped, but no one hears it, sirius falls into some magical curtain thing and dies and dumbledore comes to protect harry. i'm a little fuzzy on how they all manage to escape (hence i'm re-reading the book this week). dumbledore meets with harry back at hogwart's and tells him the prophecy, which basically says that harry and voldemort will eventually have to duel and one will have to die at the hand of the other b/c neither can live while the other is alive. harry returns to the dursley's for the summer.
i'm sure there's a lot more to it than that. if you have time i'd suggest reading part of it again, especially since the prophecy is going to be extremely important i'm sure.

I heard there are only 50 going out to each Barnes n Nobles. Unless you preordered it. Once they sell out you have ot wait for the next shipment

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
There's also the whole thing about how the prophecy could also apply (or could ahve also applied) to Neville, since he was born at the same time, etc etc. I'm re reading the whole series this week. I'm 1/3 of the way through GoF.

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Yeah I was reading about that (we both work in the same library system) about the Harry Potter books at the library. Does that mean we have to wait until Monday at 1 PM to check it out?

Yes, Michelle, that's what it means. They can check the time it was issued, and if it's before official opening, they know it's staff. Can you believe we'd get in trouble???? It's really the only perk of working in a library, right??? Keep a copy in your desk and issue it to yourself at 1:05.
I've never seen this much hype for a book before....

Re: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
I tried to read it last night after painting but I was so tired I fell asleep after 15 pages...I'm afraid that will happen again tonight. I think after our appraisal on Wed. I will have more time and really get into it.
