Me. I was just diagnosed a week ago. It sux but trust me you do learn to deal with it especially since its short lived.

I had it with my second. Thought my life was over but it's suprisingly easy diet to follow once you get the hang of it!

I have it now, with my 3rd. Did not have it before with my other 2.
I am a VERY borderline case (I only failed the 2nd hour # in the 3 hour test). But I am monitoring my BS 4x a day and watching my diet. My numbers have been terrific and I have not been the best in terms of diet  I started at about 28 weeks and I am now 35 weeks. If anything, being careful about what I eat has been a blessing. I am only up 17 lbs total at 35 weeks (I gained 35 in my other pregnancies).

I have it too, got diagnosed with it two weeks ago.... My numbers have been good. but, my fasting sugar (when I wake up in the morning) has been high and the doctor told me that it wasn't a diet isssue, so they are probably going to put me on insulin pills next week.... ugh...everything was going so well up until this point!!!! Can't wait to have some chocolate cake after the baby is born!

I had GD with my first pregnancy. This pregnancy I failed the 1 hour test but passed the 3 hour test with very good numbers. I had my doc write me a script for test strips anyway and replaced the batteries in my old meter and so I am testing 4x/day to keep an eye on my numbers and am also tracking my food...
GD can be very managable with diet and a little bit of exercise. I walk a few times a week, just for about 20-30 minutes or so, but it helps me feel good in so many ways. Please let me know if you have any questions!

I went for my 3 hour yesterday, but I STRONGLY suspect that I failed (apparently my # on the 1 hour was super high)...can I just ask what type of classes you have to go to & how often/for how long? Are they nutrition classes?
