Just talked with my stepdad and he is thinking of getting my mom a trip to one of these spa resorts (and treating me so I can go with her!!!) for her 60th.

Both me and my mom have talked about and had been wanting to go to Canyon Ranch for a few years now. Plus, it's in MA, where my mom is from-- so I think she would really enjoy it-- we can walk around Lenox and some of the surrounding towns, etc, while not getting a spa treatment. But, it's a 3 hour drive from NYC.

Emerson Spa is supposed to also be really incredible-- and it's about an hour drive from NYC.

So, it's really a driving issue. We probably will not go til next summer. My mom's bday is the end of Dec, and then she will finish out her schoolyear (she is retiring next year). I will also potentially be prego, so 3 hours in a car may be problematic.

If given the choice, I would do Canyon Ranch-- aside from travel time. Was just wondering if anyone had been to either and had an opinion.
