has anyone done The Camp weight loss challenge?
they're small gyms that do a 6-week 20lb weight loss challenge or a hard body challenge (this one is to drop 5% body fat).
you're supposed to work out at least five times a week, you're supposed to eat their very limited/strict diet.
their "gimmick" is that if you meet the goal, you can roll your fee to the next challenge (making it free). you can continue doing this until you meet your ideal weight (which they provide... but it's more generous than BMI). once you reach your ideal weight, you're refunded that initial fee.
along the way, they do all they can to sell you every protein powder and supplement under the heavens.
i'm not a fan of them selling you all these items.
but.
i signed up. i need a swift kick in the pants to shed some weight. i've gotten too damn comfortable in my current relationship and i've gained weight. plus a few of my co-workers are doing it, so i thought the accountability that would be built in would help get me in gear.
has anyone tried this program? what did you think?

I've never done this type of program but I am all for any program that helps you feel better. Whether it's physically or just mentally. Everyone is different in what will motivate them . I always feel my best when I am physically challenged and push past what I think I can't do.
Good Luck!

Totally agree with this.
The best program is the one you will actually follow. Good job taking control and taking the step to start something. Good luck!

I have never done a program like this and do not think it would work for me personally. I workout very regularly, but could not survive on a very limited diet even if I knew it was for a short period of time. That type of diet is not teaching you good strategies for long term success.

Exactly. A very limited diet is not conducive to long term sucess. You may drop a lot of weight in the beginning but it's very hard to keep it off long term if the diet is that restrictive.

yes, yes, yes. i completely agree.
i am doing it knowing it's short term. i just really needed a kick in the pants to jump start paying attention. i'm also hoping that i can contaminate SO to eat veggies with me instead of cookies or potato chips.
i won't lie, the surprise party is a factor... but i was just sick and tired of complaining about my weight.
