Did you freeze your butt off? Or was it okay?

I am DESPERATE for a ladies night out so I was going to propose that to a couple of my friends. Where would you recommend?

I haven't but they look cool. I would think when it's super super cold- like in the 20's maybe it would be too cold, but anything above freezing I'm sure the heaters work well

ITA Kitchen in Bayshore is excellent- and they have them. The only thing is, they charge for their use on the weekends and it's not cheap.

Also Coach Meeting House in Oyster Bay has this amazing set up. You get the igloo- they have hook ups for Netflix and music and you also get an outdoor fire pit- just for your party- right outside the igloo.
Looks like so much fun for a girl's night!

We did it for my daughters 21st birthday at Rhum in Patchogue. Only the "igloo" was more like a cottage. It was nice. We stayed warm as long as the door was closed, and it was snowing at the time. I definitely would not have done it had it not been a special occasion, because it was $100 (which included a round of drinks) but that plus dinner was hefty.

I was kind of happy that it was more cottage-like because it had an actual table. Some of the igloos look uncomfortable to eat in because its more like a sofa inside and you have to lean over to eat.

If you are looking at it as a "safer" alternative to eating indoors, I think you are better off just eating indoors and being comfortable.

I agree, but I think in the case of igloos you are only seated with your party in the igloos- so that is why some people find it safer... you aren't indoors with other diners.... just your party and they fog them after use etc

I know, me too! I believe 317 Main in Farmingdale has them (they had them down this weekend due to the snow) . They don't charge for them- but they are small- like tiny plastic greenhouses- and right on the sidewalk in front of the place- not a great atmosphere.

I don't disagree. I really just want to go have some drinks and laughs someplace and not have to see or hear the people I live with.

Any suggestions where?

Where are you located?
And does it have to be igloos are are you ok with indoor dining?
I go out a lot so I can probably give you some suggestions, depending on the area. Chat Icon

I would do indoors. I would rather not freeze my azz off. I would say anywhere from Massapequa to East Islip, south of the LIE.

I believe Patchogue is in that range.
There are a lot of fun places there:
Rhum and The Cuban come to mind for fun spots.
Del Feugo for Tex Mex
I haven't been yet, but my friend went to Indigo in Patchogue and said it was really nice with a good atmosphere
Locale for Italian

Bayshore also has a lot of good places for a girl's night but it's like a town over from East Islip so maybe too far
