Has anyone ever gone to Times Square on NYE?

NOT going but I was just wondering how it is and what do you do about going to the bathroom?

haha..i always wondered the same thing too...never had any desire to go there for NYE.

I have never been but on the news this morning they said to dress in layers, lots of layers. Don't carry a lot of stuff in since back packs and the like are not permitted. There are no bathroom facilities provided.

There are restaurants, hotels etc in the area but I can't imagine they would let people in to use the restrooms. I would imagine it would be nearly impossible to navigate the crowds.

I went to times square once about 8 years ago and honestly I cannot remember what we did about bathrooms....I vaguely remember one of us leaving to go to one but I am not sure if we went to a restaurant or what?

Overall I gotta say it was a once in a lifetime experience. I would never ever do it again in life but I am SO glad I did do it and I think everyone should try it at least the one time.

I went, but it was almost 20 years ago when I was pretty young and happy to drink with my friends. You were allowed to get bombed then, and no one was particular about what you brought with you, but I think it's a completely different scene now.

I remember we used a Burger King bathroom near where we stood, but it was easy to come and go, not as crowded back then. It was a whole other Times Square, this was during the Dinkins years I believe.

But DH did for NYE 2000-2001 and he said you aren't allowed to go anywhere, or drink anything or leave to pee and they peed in water bottles

Now he is FDNY, and most likely working there tonight

i went back in about the late 90s
it was not fun. it was cold, so many road blocks... back then, you could take a backpack and booze... not that i did.

i was with a group of my cousin's friends. they spent the whole time complaining... they're from socal.

i did it. will never do it again.

I did 2x, while I was in college. We spent the day in the city, went skating at Wollman Rink, took in all the sights, then took our spots around 10. I remember using the bathroom in a McD's before, and then finding one after that on the way back to Penn Station.

Once you are in your spot, you are barricaded in and leaving becomes impossible. I can't tell you how many people I saw peeing on the side streets and the men peeing into empty bottles, right out in the open.

Crazy. Fun while I was a college student. Crazy now!

we went once but we got a hotel room (crowne plaza) and didnt go down until like 11:45. They closed off a section for hotel guests so it was great- we walked up and down at our convenience!

I went back when I was in college. A friend of mine rented a suite over looking the ball dropping. He had pizzas, apps and drinks. It was a lot of fun. It was great because we had 1. warmth, 2. bathrooms, 3. places to sit, 4. things to eat, 5. could actually hear the music, and 6. about 40 good friends. It was a lot of fun.

I went three times. Once we stayed for a while- and used a restuarants bathroom.

Once we stayed at a friends house and left around 11- so we were all good.

Once we were at my office- right across the street from the ball. So we were inside with total access to a bathroom. Perfect!
