Has anyone ever heard of getting a massage at....
A place in Syosset that is a training school for massage therapists? My hairdresser told me she knows tons of people who go there for great massages and they are really cheap because they are people in training. It sounds like a great deal but I was just wondering if anyone knows where it is and how to contact them? Also has anyone done this and what was your experience?
I did a little online reasearch and I found "The new york college of health profressions Massage Therapy program" located in syosset. It didn't say if you could go there for massages though.
Thanks in Advance

Really, I don't even know if that is the place. She just told me it was a place at the last exit on the SOB. So I found that school when I researched massage schools on long island. It might be a different place. Who knows?

Yes, you can definitely get massages there.
Here is the website on the school. I couldn't find anything about it- but I pass it every day, and there is a sign that says that the clinic is open to the public.

Trish I have been there about 4 years ago. It is on Jericho turnpike right past the overhead railroad tracks on teh right if you are coming from the 135 going west. there is a tutor time or another type of place like that is there too. I had a friend who was going to school there and the massages were $20 for an hour if I recall correctly. It was great. The school has a commercial and I can't remember the name.

Yes. I studied there. NY College of Health Professions. The students finish their last 2 semesters in the "clinic".
Phone number is: 516-364-0808
You can call the clinic to get an appt. They are open everyday but Sunday.
I believe it's $35 for 45 minutes. You can't request what kind of massage you get though. Since this is a student clinic, they do the required massages that they need to do for their assignment. No candles, no dime light. That's not a spa. The "quality" of the students vary a lot too.
One trick... be very friendly to the receptionist so she can "hook" you up with a good one. If you can, get a "clinc 2" student. Those are about to graduate.
I had great and not so great massages there. It's very inconsistent!
They also do acupunctunre and oriental medicine (Chinese herbs)
