Has anyone ever made BBQ pulled pork in a dutch oven?

I'm thinking of making pulled pork for dinner Friday but since I'm having company I need to make a lot. I don't have a large crock pot, but I do have a 7 qt dutch oven. I think I can fit more pork in here than in my crock pot. Has anyone done this before? Here is the recipe I want to use:

Ingredients

* 1 (2 pound) pork tenderloin
* 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle root beer
* 1 (18 ounce) bottle your favorite barbecue sauce
* 8 hamburger buns, split and lightly toasted

Directions

1. Place the pork tenderloin in a slow cooker; pour the root beer over the meat. Cover and cook on low until well cooked and the pork shreds easily, 6 to 7 hours. Note: the actual length of time may vary according to individual slow cooker. Drain well. Stir in barbecue sauce. Serve over hamburger buns.

So how would I do this in a dutch oven instead of a slow cooker? Any tips? Or just do the same things but put in the dutch oven, and put the dutch oven in the regular oven?

Thanks!

P.S. Serving 6 people, but fairly big eaters. Do you think I should make 2 tenderloins?

Yes! I haven't done it, but I don't see a problem with doing it. Make sure its covered tightly, put the oven on quite a low temp, like 180 maybe....keep an eye on it for the liquid levels also! Good luck!

no, I have not. But I was reading the below recipe on pioneer woman yesterday thinking I could do it in my slow cooker. lol. You could reference this recipe for cooking times and temperature.

I used that recipe and it came out sooo good!!!

ETA: I used Pork Shoulder Butt and it was a little over 2 lbs. I made it for two people and we had leftovers enough for one person for lunch the next day.
