Has anyone ever sold Comic Books?

My DH has a ton of comic books that he is interested in selling. A lot of them are autographed by the artists who worked on them.

Where would be the best place to cell them? Also, is there a place he could take them to to find out if they are worth anything first, before he sells?

He has been holding onto them FOREVER and is finally willing to sell them, so I don't want him to get ripped off and then regret it later.

There is also a store in Lindenhurst, on Wellwood Ave, I think the name is Baileys Comics, you could call and ask them how to go about selling them.
