Has anyone ever sold their house on their own?

We are starting the process of trying to figure out how to sell my in laws house.

I am wondering if selling on our own would bring a little more $$$$ in their pockets in the end then through a real estate agent and if that extra $$$ is worth doing it ourselves?

My parents use FSBO and it worked out well for them. The only thing I remember my parents hating was people "dropping by" to look at the house. My mom would insist that they make an appt.

good Luck

Thanks Lisa! Great site to know about and the price to list seems very reasonable!

Ohh another tip....try and negotiate a flat rate with FSBO, if you decide to go that way. My parents only could pay a flat rate, and they got the house in the book and on the website. They try and sell you all kinds of crap....that you dont need!

i think it would definitely be worth at least trying to sell it on your own, because you will end up saving yourself quite a bit of money. if you have it up for a while at no bites, then go with an agent. if you have the time, you may as well try! good luck.
