Newlywed House SOLD
LOS ANGELES(AP) The "Newlyweds" home of divorcing Hollywood couple Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey is being bought by "Malcolm in the Middle" teen actor Justin Berfield.
Simpson's publicist, Rob Shuter, announced just on Monday that the Calabasas, Calif. home was for sale. The house had been listed for $3.75 million.
Hope Diamond, Berfield's publicist, confirmed the sale Tuesday, but wouldn't disclose the price.
The 19-year-old Berfield plays the bullying middle child, Reese, on Fox's "Malcolm in the Middle."
The Mediterranean-style house, which includes a screening room and music studio, was the backdrop for the hit MTV show "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica."
Simpson, 25, filed for divorce last month from former "98 Degrees" star Lachey, 32.

Re: Newlywed House SOLD
Did anyone see this article??? They had a marriage contract for 41 months????
NICK SUES JESSICA FOR ENDING MARRIAGE THREE MONTHS BEFORE CONTRACT ENDED
According to court documents, Nick Lachey has sued estranged spouse Jessica Simpson for ending their marriage three months before the pair contractually agreed to stay together.
“Mr. Lachey signed over to Ms. Simpson all royalties from ’98 Degrees’ songs, his appearance on an MTV reality show to promote her albums and perfume line, and his soul in exchange for 41 months of marriage that would keep him in the public spotlight,” wrote Lachey’s attorney. “The couple has been married only 38 months and Ms. Simpson is in violation of the contract, ending the union early.”
In a written response, Simpson’s lawyers argued that since Lachey would continue to receive publicity until the divorce is official in several months, she is still fulfilling her contractual obligations.
“I hope Katie Holmes is paying attention to this,” said one source close to Lachey. “These Hollywood stars feel free to play fast and loose with marriage contracts and they think they have so much power you can’t do anything about it. The lack of morals sickens me.”

The Katie Holmes comment is interesting- wonder if Tommy Boy will sue over the implication that the whole thing is a sham?
Ironic that someone is called immoral for walking away from a contract that should never have been made in the first place. I find it immoral and hypocritical for both of them to have put a timeline on their marriage in the first place.

Re: Newlywed House SOLD
it's definitely fake .. sorry guys ... here is another article I just found
NICK AND JESSICA CHRISTMAS SPECIAL A COMPLETE DISASTER Jessica tells Nick to go f*ck himself on live television
Hollywood – The usually family friendly “Nick & Jessica Christmas Special” on ABC last night turned into a vicious battle packed with blistering personal attacks, obscene gestures and emotional breakdowns. Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey, who officially announced they were splitting up last week, were still under contract to appear in their annual Christmas special. “It would have cost us a lot of money to not air it because of penalties in the contract,” said Stephen McPherson, president of ABC. “We just regret seeing Jessica tell Nick to go f*ck himself 143 times in an hour. We also apologize for Nick’s behavior, especially when he urinated into the gas tank of Jessica’s new Lexus IS in the parking lot. In hindsight, the show should have been taped instead of airing live.”
Their married life was seen by millions in the MTV show “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica,” in which Simpson famously wondered aloud if she was eating chicken or tuna because the brand she was consuming was called “Chicken of the Sea.”
“Americans everywhere thought that was cute when you said that on the show,” said a smiling Lachey to Simpson during the Christmas Special. “Now that I look back on it, I should have walked right out the door you stupid, stupid, stupid whore! Merry Christmas everyone.”
During the show, Simpson read her own version of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
“’Twas the Night Before Christmas/when all through the house/Not a creature was stirring, not even Nick’s tiny penis.”
Their relationship has been the subject of persistent media scrutiny. Simpson, 25, played Daisy Duke in this year’s movie remake of the 1980 TV series “Dukes of Hazzard.” Lachey, 32, an ex-member of boy band 98 Degrees, appeared on the television drama “Charmed.”
Dr. Robert Gibson, Ph.D., author of “Bad Breakups and Why They Happen,” puts it this way: “Many people are afraid to leave bad relationships because these negative love affairs psychologically thrust them back into early childhood. Consequently, they suffer all over again the terror of potentially being separated from a parent. Happily, finding the courage to leave an adult relationship sends the message that you are no longer a helpless child. Although I must point out that Ms. Simpson is smoking hot, and many men would put up with her stupidity because, as some say, ‘she’s got quite a set of cans.’”
During the Chistmas Special, Ashlee Simpson joined sister Jessica in singing their duet of “Little Drummer Boy.” The song was interrupted when Nick’s brother, Drew Lachey, showed up drunk. He then grabbed a 60 pound lyp-synching machine from backstage and beat Ashlee Simpson on the head with it.
“Ms. Ashlee Simpson suffered a concussion from the attack,” said Los Angeles Paramedic Miguel Garcia. “Although her sister Jessica was not harmed whatsoever, we took her in for tests because we think she’s been suffering from a concussion for over the last ten years or so. It’s always better to check these things out and be on the safe side.”
ABC announced today the “Nick & Jessica Christmas Special” will not return in 2006 as the contract expired this holiday season.
“We will continue doing a Christmas special but we want another couple that exemplifies the meaning of a healthy and loving relationship,” said McPherson, the president of ABC Entertainment. “We think it’s safe to say that next year you can gather your family, including the young children, to watch the ‘Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston Christmas Special.’ We’re also excited about airing a new animated special, “A Courtney Love Christmas.”
