Has anyone ever taken a "street photography" class
My first photography class will be ending in 2 weeks and I am looking into signing up for another one. I am really interested in street photography but I'd like to get some feedback on the experience. After looking at the overview of the class, I understand that you are asked to photograph strangers and it kind of frightens me a bit. If anyone has taken a class like this, can you share what your experience was like. TIA!!

I haven't, but I used to photograph strangers a lot. usually without permission when they didn't see me.
But if you explain you're in a class, people will generally be cool with it.
If not, put on your tele and hide behind a tree!
Where are you taking these classes? I want to take some more photo classes!

I think this is actually better because then you get true candids. Once people know they are being photographed their behavior changes.
I have a great "street photograph" I have frmaed on my wall I took in HS. It's on the brooklyn bridge but there are people walking across and int he forgeound there is a couple talking on a bench. It's a moment in time. I also like it because I printed it really well, getting black, white and many shades of grey.
With these online classes do they critique your work?

That sounds like an awesome picture! I hope to get one that I can frame like that one day! Yes! They do critique the work. They also have a forum where you can post work that is outside of the assignments that you can get critiqued by the instructors and your peers.
