Has anyone ever tried the House Foods Tofu Shirataki noodles that HG raves about?
I wonder how they taste. She seems to use them a lot and the stats are really good. It seems you can get them at KK, Shoprite and Best Yet.

I had them once. I could never find them again. I will try them again once i start ww again. They smell gross at first but once you rinse them they are good. I tried hg's fettucine alfredo recipe and liked it.

I've seen them at Shop Rite and the health food store..I tried them and followed directions and couldn't get past the texture..I was chewing for days! It was just not pleasant and I tried more than once..

yes. you have to rinse them, dry them, rinse them again, and cook them in chicken broth (or veggie broth) which was a tip from my nutritionist to get rid of the weird flavor.
I've made the angel hair ones with tomato sauce, and the fettuccine or spaghetti once with a peanut sauce. I liked the peanut sauce better. they definitely need a LOT of sauce to coat them to taste decent, IMO.

i was never brave enough to try that stuff.
sometimes in lieu of pasta i will prepare spaghetti squash. it's healthy, lo cal, tasty and a good conduit for pasta sauce w/ sausage and such. it takes out half the guilt for me or, if i absolutely need my pasta fix, i will just go and have my whole grain pasta, but just season canned crushed tomatoes and load it up w/ veggies.
